Armored Saint @ The Galaxy On June 18th 2006

The crowd is in much anticipation of the long awaited return of Armored Saint. They chant “ARMORED SAINT, ARMORED SAINT”. Teasers are played before they take the stage and the crowd goes fucking crazy. This only excites them even more. They continue the chants over and over until the lights fade and ARMORED SAINT finally hits the stage with a force. The crown is awe stricken. Between songs, John Bush talks about how it has been 3 long years since last they played and figured it good practice to have a couple good warm up shows at home before they head to Europe and play in front of thousands. They continue to play up all the old tunes we all know and love so much. “Reign of fire” the crowd knew right from the first couple licks and roared in approval. “Tribal dance” was another that was sheer ecstasy. “Over the edge”, the crowd gladly joined in on this one. All night the crowd was in total support of everything Armored Saint had to give.
But John just had to be a bit dramatic with the introduction to this one. “Now it is time to give you The Epic we call, Aftermath”. After the intense intro, the Galaxy’s spinning of the disco ball lights up. Oh how special! They go right into “Seducer”. At the end of the song, John states how they haven’t done that song live since the first tour. Sweeeeeet!!! He talks about how the next song is a love/hate song inspired by some stupid puppy love, “Stricken by Fate”. Our favorites continue and we all just eat it up. John introduces “Warzone” only to tell us this song was written during the first gulf war and now here we are 15 years later only to still be another stupid war with Iraq.
They go on to do “Nervous man” and the final song of the evening “Chemical Euphoria”. Like we all think that’s going to end with a “Thank you and good night”. Naaaaaah, I don’t think so. The crowd wants more and people are yelling out all the different songs they want to hear and the chants of “Saint, Saint” are a constant until John comes out asking “Do you wanna hear some more?” He got a big loud screaming response. Well you know the answer to that one. John says “It’s time for the number one hit, do you remember what that is?” He takes a brief pause and tells us all “Can you deliver”. With that the crowd is just a bunch of lunatics. They go right into “March of the saint” and once again the crowd gladly joins in with John singing “March of the Saint”. A final thank and goodnight. Thus ends an evening with Armored Saint.
